国际地球信息技术及其应用学术讨论会

为分享地球信息技术领域内杰出科学家和优秀学者在技术创新、新算法开发等方面的成果，促进科学家和政府等机构的合作，促进地理空间科学的发展及其在地质勘探、自然灾害、地理、农业、水资源和海洋资源等领域的应用，国际地球信息技术及其应用学术讨论会 (ICGITA2019)将于2019年10月11-13日在中国江西举办。欢迎从事地球信息技术和相关领域的专家、学者和学生参会。

Background

Geo-information technology has been playing a more and more important role in environmental monitoring, natural resources investigation and socioeconomic development, especially, with the emergence of the new big data mining approaches and machine learning processing.

The International Conference on Geo-Information Technology and its Applications (ICGITA) is to provide a platform and an opportunity for international scientists and experts in this field to exchange and share their recent research and application in geology, ore prospecting, geography, agriculture and food security, water resources and ocean, natural calamities, climate change, carbon sequestration and emission, urbanization and smart city, etc.

The goal of this conference is to promote cooperation between/among scientists and governmental institutions, and more importantly advancement of geospatial science and its application in the mentioned domains by sharing the technical innovation and new algorithm development by outstanding scientists and scholars.

Keynote Speeches

Alfredo Huete

Dr Alfredo Huete, Distinguished Professor of the University of Technology Sydney, Australia, developer of the soil-adjusted vegetation index (SAVI) and the enhanced vegetation index (EVI) and EVI2, the principal scientist of the MODIS vegetation indices project and one of the world-class remote sensing scientists, will give a keynote talk on “Dryland ecosystem resilience and shifts to changing climates”.

Prasad

Dr Prasad S. Thenkabail, Senior Geographer with the USGS since 2008, Editor-in-Chief of Remote Sensing, Principal Scientist with the international organizations as IITA, ICMOD and IWMI in 1992-2008, a well known remote sensing expert, especially, in hyperspectral remote sensing and global irrigation mapping with high resolution data, will deliver a keynote talk on “Global cropland mapping for food and water security using Landsat big-data, machine learning, and cloud computing”.

Bo Huang

Prof Bo Huang,Chinese University of Hong Kong, China, will give a keynote speech on "Big Spatial Data for Urban and Environmental Sustainability".

The conference will be focused on the geo-information technology and its applications with the following themes:

Innovation in geo-information technology including big data analysis and mining, and machine learning

Geology (3D modeling and ore deposit exploration)

Geography (land resources and management, land degradation, climate change and its impacts)

Agriculture (soil, water consumption, crop performance, yield and food security)

Water resources (quantity, quality, and potential), ocean and aquatic production

Natural disasters (geological catastrophes, flooding and drought, and tsunami, etc.)

Multibiome biomass, carbon sequestration and emission

Urbanization, planning and smart city
